Rental terms

Fair and smooth rental for both sides. Take your time to read the terms before booking — avoid surprises and hit the road with peace of mind.

Our rental activity is based on the general terms of the Finnish Car Rental Association.

1. Formation of the rental agreement

The rental agreement is formed between Ri-Lease Auto Center Oy and the person signing the rental agreement (or the legal entity they represent). The renter must hold a valid driving licence, have driving skill appropriate to the conditions, at least one year of driving experience and be at least 18 years old.

2. Handover of the vehicle

We hand over the vehicle in roadworthy and legal condition at the agreed time and place. The vehicle is inspected before handover, and the renter is required to inspect the vehicle at handover to verify any damage or defects. Damage and defects must be reported immediately.

3. Renter's obligations

The renter must treat the vehicle with care, use it only for its intended purpose and obey traffic laws. The renter is responsible for all fuel, parking, toll and penalty fees incurred during the rental. Smoking and transporting pets without protection may incur a cleaning fee.

4. Kilometres and fuel

All our rentals include unlimited kilometres in Finland. The vehicle must be returned with a full tank; returns with less than full fuel incur the fuel cost plus a €50 penalty. The required fuel type is indicated in the car — damage caused by the wrong fuel is the renter's responsibility.

5. Insurance and deductible

All our cars have Fennia liability insurance plus moose, fire, theft and collision cover. The renter is liable for damage to the car during the rental and for downtime costs up to the insurance deductible. Maximum liability is €1,600 per incident, reducible to €800 for €20.

6. 24/7 roadside assistance

The price includes 24/7 roadside assistance via Fennia Autoapu (010 503 2001). Roadside assistance helps with technical faults, flat tyres, running out of fuel and battery problems. If needed, we arrange a tow to the nearest workshop, a replacement vehicle or accommodation.

7. Damage

Damage must be reported to Ri-Lease immediately and, in case of a collision with other parties involved, also to the police. The renter completes the damage report and is obliged to act to limit the damage according to general guidance.

8. Cancellation

Bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to 7 days before the rental starts. Later cancellations are handled case by case and may be partially or fully charged.

9. Vehicle return and late returns

The vehicle must be returned at the agreed time and place. If you cannot return on time, notify the office immediately — the car may be booked for the next customer. Less than 15 minutes late usually does not incur a charge; over 15 minutes without notice incurs a €150 penalty.

10. Payment

Payments are handled primarily at booking via Visma Pay (online banking, Visa/Mastercard, MobilePay, Pivo, invoice and instalment options). Companies can pay by invoice. Cash is not accepted due to insurance terms. Renters with a payment default mark are charged a refundable €600 deposit.

11. Taking the vehicle abroad

The vehicle may not be taken outside Finland's borders without a separate export permit, a Green Card and the technical part of the vehicle's registration certificate. These are issued by Ri-Lease staff by prior arrangement.

12. Accessories

Each car comes with a roadside assistance card, snow brush and parking disc as standard. Lost minor accessories are charged at €15, hand trucks at €150. Accessories (hand trucks, cargo straps, brush) are rented from the office as needed.

13. Applicable general terms

Our rental activity is based on the general rental terms of the Finnish Car Rental Association (Suomen Autovuokraamojen liitto ry). Any disputes are resolved primarily by negotiation. Finnish law applies to the agreement.
